Collin Park Marina – An entry point to every adventure

“Adventure” is a term used broadly. “Cooking an omelet” could be an adventure. For North Texas explorers coming from Dallas and Fort Worth, from McKinney and Plano, it means something else: one Lake Lavon destination where you and your family have available every amenity and activity to make a weekend complete.
Collin Park Marina and Campground rests on a western peninsula of the gorgeous Lake Lavon and truly invites visitors seeking becalmed quiet or lively action to gather in the same place. Our campground includes RV sites with full hookups, a fully stocked ship store for snacks and necessities, volleyball courts, a swimming area, and the 25.5-mile lake-traversing Trinity Trail that loops directly through the campground.
Walk onto the docks, and we offer over 500 covered and uncovered slips for Lake Lavon boaters, a Lake Lavon fuel dock with three dispensers, pontoon and tiki party boat rentals at Woody’s on the Lake, and our own restaurant on the water at The Boathouse Restaurant and Club.
You might arrive seeking a shaded hammock or to reel in a tournament-winning bass. “Adventure” here means whatever you want it to.

A multi-use Lake Lavon park for outdoor lovers
Lake Lavon may not be the largest recreational lake in North Texas, but its character embodies a person with love for the Texas outdoors. The lake fosters professional year-round bass tournaments (more on that below), a unique destination for hikers and equestrians who wish to challenge themselves with a full lake loop (or a single segment), and the lake is even bordered by roughly 6,500 acres of public hunting land.
Collin Park Marina and Campground provides an abundance of RV sites at per-day rates, and day visitors can access the recreation area that includes the swimming area and volleyball courts for $4 person. Explore the full rates and amenities on the RV Park and Campground page.

Fishing at Lake Lavon
The bass-fishing culture at Lake Lavon is reflected in the prolific professional tournaments that invite casual enthusiasts and full-time bass anglers to the lake.
Our Lake Lavon public boat ramp at Collin Park launches the weekly Lavon Working Man’s Bass Fishing Series, which runs April through September. Lake Lavon holds a strong largemouth bass population, with crappie, white bass, and channel catfish.
We offer snacks and supplies for anglers at our ship store and the campground serves as base camp for many a fishing weekend.
Hikers and equestrians flourish at Collin Park
The primary Lake Lavon hiking and horse-riding draw is the 25.5-mile loop that curls around the lake. The trail includes 11 access points on a curated trailbed, making it a wonderful destination for hikers, joggers, bird-watchers, equestrians, and those who simply wish to enjoy nature.
As of March 3, 2026, the Collin Park trailhead remains closed. Please check in for updates with the Trinity Trail Preservation Association.

Lake Lavon boat rentals at Woody’s on the Lake
Collin Park Marina hosts our neighboring business, Woody’s on the Lake, which offers premier pontoon boat rentals for families and two party barge-style flatboats for those with a more party-oriented mission. They offer unique packages for bachelor and bachelorette cruises, as well as “Sunset” and “Happy Hour” cruises. Find out more on the Woody’s on the Lake website.
Collin Park’s restaurant on the water at Lake Lavon
The Boathouse Restaurant and Club is Collin Park Marina’s on-the-water dining experience, a gathering point for delicious food, cold beer, and the Saturday night karaoke sessions that you don’t want to miss. You can access the restaurant by land or water, and it opens for visitors from May 1 to September 7 for the summer season. Events at the restaurant include weekly live music, poker runs, “Costumes and Cocktails,” and a deck area for anyone who wishes to simply fill their stomach with a hot meal and cold drink. Follow The Boathouse on Facebook or Instagram for summer-long updates and specials.
